The front passenger seat in your Acadia has a Passenger Sensing System¹ to turn the frontal air bag in that position on or off automatically, as&nbsp;necessary. Sensors embedded in the seat detect the weight and pressure of an occupant, which reduces the risk of inappropriate deployment.<br /><br />¹ Always use safety belts and child restraints. The power liftgate gives you push-button remote access to the rear cargo area, making it almost effortless to open and close the rear liftgate. You can operate the power liftgate in&nbsp;3 different ways: using the liftgate button on the Remote Keyless Entry transmitter, pressing the liftgate button on the center console inside the vehicle or pressing the touchpad on the exterior liftgate handle.&nbsp;Electronic obstacle detection will reverse an automatic open or close if it senses something in its path to help prevent damage to the liftgate.
